Staircases and balustrades
Feature stairs, external escape stairs, service stairs and cat ladders, with glass, bar or mesh balustrades made to fit on the first visit.
A stair is the one piece of steel that everybody touches. We survey the openings and slab levels on site before we draw, so the stair lands where it should and the balustrade meets the wall without packers or gaps.
For feature stairs we work closely with the architect on stringer profiles, tread finishes and glass fixings. Escape stairs are detailed to the fire engineer's requirements and galvanised for outdoor use.

Site survey
We measure openings, floor levels and fixing points with a total station.

Stair drawings, finishes and glass details for the architect and engineer.

Fabrication
Stringers, treads and balustrade posts made and trial-fitted in the yard.

Installed and glazed on site, then protected until handover.

Questions
Can you supply the glass as well?
Yes. We supply and install laminated toughened glass with stainless clamps or a base channel, so one contractor is responsible for the whole balustrade.
Do you take on single stairs for homes?
Yes, for bungalows and semi-detached homes, usually as part of a renovation led by an architect or interior designer.
